The call to attention at the 2011 Modern Day Marine Combat Exposition will be made on SoundCommander® loudspeaker systems. Organizers of the show, cosponsored by Marine Corps Base Quantico, the Combat Development Command and the Marine Corps Systems Command chose the combat-proven SoundCommander® loudspeaker systems from IMLCORP (www.imlcorp.com), Marietta, GA for making all announcements at the exposition, Sept. 27-29 at Quantico MCB in Virginia.
“We are honored to be chosen to provide the loudspeaker system for broadcasting all live voice, prerecorded messages and notifications at Modern Day Marine,” said Stefan Pollack, a retired US military officer and CEO of IMLCORP. Our systems have the highest levels of voice clarity and power in their classes, and that’s essential for getting mission information to everyone, whether by focused, tactical sound or mass notification operations.”
Several outdoor and indoor loudspeaker nodes will be controlled and operated from a SoundCommander® Central Base Station. Over the past 18 years, IMLCORP has provided the Marine Corps with portable, deployable and fixed loudspeaker systems for mission requirements overseas and throughout the United States as well as the other branches of our armed forces, police, and fire and disaster support services worldwide.
Among the SoundCommander®systems at Modern Day Marine will be the new SC5600 focused Acoustic Hailing Device (AHD). Its smaller, lighter, and more powerful six-speaker focused array features improved internal sound-dampening materials to protect the hearing of personnel standing alongside or behind the unit and upgraded amplifier electronics for increased sound output.
There are six other SoundCommander® models, offering directed and wide-area coverage at ranges from 750 to 2000m. The SC360 fixed installation emergency mass notification system offers wide area mass notification coverage on military bases, university campuses and other public venues. The system complies with the criteria for “Giant Voice” applications as outlined in the Unified Services Criteria (UFC) 4-021. The SC1300 series of lightweight portable tactical systems have ranges up to 1000m and can be carried as a backpack, shoulder or hand-carried units, or mounted on vehicles. All systems feature wired and wireless input capabilities and are expandable.
Modern Day Marine’s sponsors are responsible for setting requirements, developing equipment and systems and purchasing the equipment and systems that the Marine Corps will rely on in the years to come.

The SOUNDCOMMANDER SC3500 Dual Loudspeaker System provides high-clarity instructions and warnings at US military bases worldwide.

The SOUNDCOMMANDER SC1000 is used by the Marine Corps worldwide.
